Depuis 2017, Turn 10 bosse sur Forza Motorsport, le studio a fait le choix de ne pas l’appeler Forza 8 pour marquer une évolution. En effet, cela fait plus de 4 ans que le studio bosse sur le jeu alors que d’habitude, la série voit arriver un nouvel opus tous les 2 ans.

Forza Motorsport : Date de sortie et plateformes


Initialement, Forza Motorsport devait sortir au premier semestre 2023 mais le titre sortira finalement le 10 octobre 2023. Les joueurs ayant choisi l’édition premium auront la possibilité de jouer 5 jours plus tôt, retrouvez ici toutes les infos sur les horaires de lancement pour l’accès anticipé et celui de l’édition standard ici.

Le jeu sera disponible sur Xbox Series S|X ainsi que sur PC. A noter qu’il sera disponible via le Game Pass.

Forza Motorsport : Simulation ou arcade ?


La série Forza est historiquement située entre le jeu de course de type arcade et la simulation, Forza Motorsport devrait rester un Simcade mais pencher un peu plus du coté simulation, c’est en tout cas ce que Turn 10 a annoncé.

Voici une liste des améliorations que les développeurs ont annoncé lors de la présentation du jeu :

  • Système de physique 48 fois plus précis (par rapport à forza 7?) avec une refonte totale du système de suspensions et des pneus. Plus d’info à ce sujet ici.
  • Dégradation des pneus
  • Gestion du carburant avec arrêts aux stands
  • Météo dynamique et gestion du cycle jour/nuit
  • Effet de brume et nuage volumétrique
  • La température jouera un rôle sur l’adhérence des pneus
  • Raytracing pendant la course en temps réel
  • Gestion des dégâts améliorée (mais pas de destruction à la AMS2 ou iRacing)
  • Une IA de type machine learning beaucoup plus performante que celles des précédents épisodes.

Un mode en ligne et un mode campagne


Forza Motorsport proposera un mode campagne semblable à un CaRPG. Choisissez votre voiture au début de chaque série et obtenez de l’XP pour débloquer des améliorations. Plus d’info dans cet article dédié au mode Carrière.

Le mode en ligne proposera un matchmaking basé sur un système d’évaluation qui détermine le niveau d’un joueur à travers deux critères : les performances et l’indice de sécurité (conduite propre, respect des joueurs). Plus d’info sur les modes multijoueurs ici.

Forza Motorsport : un mode VR prévu ?


Pour le moment Turn 10 n’a pas évoqué de mode VR pour Forza Motorsport. Bien que la Xbox Series ne dispose pas de casque VR, la version PC pourrait bénéficier d’un mode VR à l’avenir comme ce fut le cas pour Flight Simulator.
